What Is a Salary Calculator?

A Salary Calculator helps convert income between annual, monthly, weekly, daily, and hourly salary amounts. It can be useful when comparing job offers, reviewing compensation, or converting an hourly wage into an estimated annual salary.

How the Salary Calculator Works

Enter your salary amount and select the period that applies to that amount. Then enter your typical work hours per week and the number of working weeks per year. The calculator converts the salary into equivalent amounts for different pay periods.

Salary Conversion Formulas

Annual Salary = Hourly Rate × Hours Per Week × Working Weeks Per Year
Monthly Salary = Annual Salary ÷ 12
Weekly Salary = Annual Salary ÷ Working Weeks Per Year
Daily Salary = Weekly Salary ÷ 5
Hourly Salary = Weekly Salary ÷ Hours Per Week

Example

If your annual salary is $60,000 and you work 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year, the calculator estimates:

Annual = $60,000
Monthly = $5,000.00
Weekly = $1,153.85
Daily = $230.77
Hourly = $28.85

Choosing Working Weeks Per Year

The default setting is 52 working weeks per year. If you receive unpaid leave or normally work fewer weeks, you can adjust this value to better reflect your work schedule.

Important: This calculator provides gross salary estimates. It does not account for income taxes, social security, benefits, bonuses, overtime, commissions, deductions, unpaid leave, or other compensation adjustments. Actual take-home pay may be different.
