Water Intake Calculator
Estimate daily water intake using body weight, activity and climate. Your actual fluid needs may differ from this estimate.
Your Estimated Daily Water Intake
This is a rough calculation, not a medical recommendation. It estimates drinking water only and does not determine your full fluid needs. Water from foods and other beverages also contributes to total fluid intake. Do not force fluids to meet a calculator target.
How Much Water Should You Drink?
Fluid needs vary with body size, activity, temperature, diet, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and individual health. There is no single daily water target that is right for everyone.
How This Calculator Works
The calculator starts with an illustrative estimate of 35 milliliters per kilogram of body weight. It then adds preset amounts based on the selected activity level and climate. These additions are simplified assumptions, not validated measurements of your personal hydration requirements.
Example Calculation
For someone weighing 70 kg who selects low activity and a normal climate, the calculator estimates 2,450 ml, or 2.45 liters per day. The figure changes when different activity or climate options are selected.
Why Is Hydration Important?
Water supports normal body functions, including temperature regulation and digestion. Exercise and hot weather can increase fluid loss through sweating, so additional fluids may sometimes be needed.
Important Health Information
Use the result as a general educational estimate, not an exact daily requirement. People with kidney, heart or other conditions that require fluid restrictions should follow advice from their healthcare professional. Seek professional guidance if you are unsure how much fluid is appropriate for you.
Water Intake Calculator FAQs
How much water should I drink each day?
The amount varies from person to person. This calculator provides a rough estimate based on weight and selected adjustments; it cannot determine an exact personal requirement.
Does exercise increase water needs?
Exercise can increase fluid loss through sweating. The amount needed depends on exercise duration, intensity, temperature and individual sweat rate.
Should I drink more water in hot weather?
Hot or humid weather can increase sweating and fluid loss. Drink regularly and adjust to your circumstances, while following any medical fluid restrictions.
Are the results exact?
No. The calculation uses a simple weight-based estimate and preset adjustments. It does not measure hydration status or replace personalized medical advice.
Do tea, other drinks and food count toward fluid intake?
Yes. Fluids from many beverages and the water contained in foods contribute to total fluid intake. This calculator's result is a simplified drinking-water estimate, not a complete assessment of total water intake.
